VriDS – A Data Space for Discovery and Experimentation

Digitization and accompanying regulations pose enormous challenges for small and large companies alike. The need to efficiently share, utilize, and process data while preserving security, confidentiality, and sovereignty across corporate boundaries is becoming increasingly important.
Data spaces provide the necessary organizational and technical framework for this. Shared standards and services enable secure and trustworthy data exchange. On one hand, this allows for the implementation of new regulations, such as the digital product passport, or the upcoming Supply Chain Act, across the entire value chain. On the other hand, data spaces enable the rapid and trustworthy establishment of new digital business models. This facilitates digitization in both SMEs and large companies, thereby enhancing competitiveness.
As part of the event, we will introduce the possibilities and current developments regarding data spaces. To facilitate companies’ entry into this world, the Gaia-X Hub Austria and the Digital Factory Vorarlberg have developed a test environment for implementing a digital data space. The experimental data space VriDS is available to companies free of charge for initial steps. During the event, we will introduce the test environment, provide examples of its application, present new business models, and explain the technical background. Following the official part of the event, there will be networking opportunities and a tour of the Digital Factory Vorarlberg’s pilot factory.
